Gifts That Do Good and Feel Good

Gifts that do good and feel good from YOLO InsightsMerry Christmas! I love this season of giving because it makes me reflect on the many gifts that do good and feel good we give and receive as business owners. In the stress and busy-ness of the season, we often forget to pause for a moment of gratitude for our many gifts.

So, I am here today to remind you to stop and spend a moment in quiet gratitude and think about all the gifts in your life this year—the ones you gave, the ones you received, and sometimes, the ones you didn’t know were gifts until much later.

I’ve had the privilege of sharing gifts with so many people this year.

I give the gift of wisdom and insight. As an expert recruiter, I give others knowledge, expertise, and encouragement. And, I do it with laughter and fun sprinkled everywhere.

I give the gift of community. Through this blog, my speaking, training, and consulting, my community comes together to support each other on our journey.

I gave 37 businesses the gift of hiring the people they needed to move their business forward.

I gave 42 jobseekers the gift of landing their dream jobs.

And the biggest gift of all is sharing my gifts with everyone through my book, The YOLO Principle: The Ultimate Hiring Guide for Small Business.

I’ve also received many gifts this year.

A client shared their happiness with this note.

“I felt like we were the only position you were working on although I know you had other clients. Your timeliness, thoroughness, and warmth provided both candidates and me with the confidence things were under control and moving forward.”

One job seeker sent me this note.

“I want to thank you for all of your help and want to let you know that you have been the most courteous and professional recruiter that I have worked with during my job search.”

And, another sent me flowers!

And the best gift of all was learning my book, The YOLO Principle: The Ultimate Hiring Guide for Small Business, won a 2017 Platinum MarCom Award.

Gratitude for the gifts I’ve received warms my heart and keeps me focused and motivated to keep doing what I do.

So, even in a year filled with the stress and overwhelm of running a business, there were plenty of gifts. I hope I’ve inspired you to take time to be grateful and to celebrate the gifts you’ve given and received. I would love to hear about your gifts so please share them in the comments.

Merry Christmas! I’ll see you in 2018!
